Not sure, buf I thought it was a 40 Ford truck that Bob Welstead won.
The Fordson wasn't a car as such ( but neither was the Willys!), just a body on a rolling chassis, but all very nice. The building of the cars had become a burden largely because there were few shops willing to get involved and invariably there was a ton of odd jobs to be done, Wisbech excepted. I morphed the giveaways into the Prize Program with the Brookville Roadster body being the main item in 1999 iirc. I think the unstarted project truck was some time after that.
The Wisbech deal was interesting. With Paul being such a perfectionist he wanted to provide a fully complete car, requiring nothing. He built the entire car for a stupidly reasonable ?5k with assorted parts supplied. The paint was done elsewhere and Ali (with my help!) did the interior. We did 3 weekends in the Wisbech workshop and a ton of work at home. Hard work and we had fun. Interior came out fairly well but the headliner could have been a lot better! Lots of stories in the build of that car, never to be repeated!
