A guy called Eddie had the PB in the u-tube vid.
Thats the chap he also owned a Sunbeam Rapier called puddle jumper, I think the AMX was Blue and used to be owned by another chap from works dad.

We used to go out for a run in that PB lunch times it went well

thats was all i have of the cruise at the moment, there may be more i will get to the one day!, meanwhile heres some paperwork & motors from the chelmsford drag n street rod clubs run on the sunday the 19th of september 76. This was a weekend affair which started at galleywod on the saturday & went down to the southend avation museum on the sunday, i wasnt actually there it was a year before my time, its all courtesy of the bob rothwell box.
If you study the first pic of the entry form you will see at the bottom it is filled out by sandy tong whos mini is the furthest vehicle in the second shot, the 3rd pic is a rough list of prize winners, presumably wrote by Bob, the 4th pic shows the young & infamous ken robbins in his favorite sunday flares standing by his recently aquired 55, which later became red & was centrespread in the jan 78 cc with a naked lady on the roof!, the capri next to it i believe is the one that still resides in chelmsford although it is very very rarely seen it lives undercover next to a mustang & when i have seen it on rare occasions it always looks mint. In the last line up picture we have a sunbeam (probably an alpine), mk3 zody, a red mk3 cortina, 2 mk4 zodiac flying pigs, & sandys mini van, theres also a speeding a40 farina in the background & an aeroplane!, so now we have another 2 mk4 zodys to talk about & find?!, theres 4 more pics which should be on my next installment.

& here they are, 1st pic shows 2 beech bugs, 2 mk2 cortinas, a consul capri rear end, 2 souped minors, a mk1 escort & yes another mk4 zody, this time a standard & rare farnham estate, pic 2 shows a typical 70s spoilered capri & the 3rd shot shows a boler t, & 100e, i first saw the boler t at the 77 eastern cruisers run near colchester, theres to many to list in the 4th shot but of particular note theres what looks like a dark coloured 57 chevy in the distance to the left of the lampost, that completes this show, enjoy....

    Thumbs up

Mark the Chevy (to the left of the post)may of been Tim Cooks 55,and the 69 Camaro with the hood up im sure was Micky Bannels, and you can see his name on the list of winners-Best engine.Im sure there was a pic of the Camaro engine in that magazine that only ever done one issue, ive got it in the collection.Mick did have a MK 1 Capri that he went to Fibresports to have a see through bonnet made,in the end they made him up a see through 3-litre bonnet bulge. When i first see these pics i thought that was it to the left of Kens 55,but coulant of been?
Wonder if Fibersports is still there, the makers of the droopsnopp front end and flip fronts for mk1 escorts
I see this interesting bike down the seafront boxing day,but he had opened it up just coming from under the pier bridge so i missed abit of it-

You're finding some great history in Bob's box, that looks like Brian Hornsby's Mk3 Zody with a Mickey Tong paint job in the pic on the right......

Would that be the same Mickey Tong of modelling (cars) fame? Always used to see his name in the reports of the model car shows back in the early days (60s). So, is Sandy Tong a relative?

The furthest photo on the right of post 102 is a line up of South London Custom Club cars. From left to right are Mickey Tongs Mini van, John Tumers? Mk4 Zephyr estate, John Brazils Rover powered Mk3 Cortina Instantmotion [it had dinosaurs etched on the windows!] & John Russells Mk4 Zephyr, Sunset Boulevard.

Yep, same bloke, had some of his models featured in CC, he used nail varnish quite a bit on his cars as well as his models.

That'll be old Biffo - runs a custom bike shop in Westcliff. Was called 'California Motorcycle Co' but he's always changing the name!
He was telling me about his V8 bike acquisition last time I saw him and was threatening to bring it up for some mods to be done.

steve, just zoomed in on my actual car park photo, you are right it is in fact a 55, a grey 55, so it must be tims-well spotted, the camaro could well be micks, but i didnt really know that car, then on the right of tims 55? in the same car park picture is in fact micky bannels capri which was called night cruiseri, so there is a possability that mick had both cars there?, if he had them both at the same time?, im sure a certain mr robbins would know, are you out there ken!, also if you go back to the pic of kens 55 i think i can 100% confirm it is the night cruiser to the left of it as it was fitted with rostyle wheels at at least one point as can be confirmed in the attatched pics.

Heres Micks camaro, & thats mick in front, kens brother pete is 2nd in from the right, this was taken at the 76 cdsrc show at aviation way, then we have Micks night cruiser capri, 1st at the cdsrc chelmsford show at waterhouse lane on the 5th of may 78, then at a club meet at galleywood legion next to bobs y, thens theres a black & white of mick & his bulge & finally tim burning out at blackbushe at the Shutdown filming, enjoy.......

I've got a large pull out poster type thing with Paul's Mk1 Cortina on one side and little featurettes of cars on the other including Mike Keys sedan and a yellow jacked up Mini.

Mark the mag i was thinking about was called International Street Rod & Custom, came out in 77-that was the only issue.Theres a pic of Micks 69 Camaro with side pipes (not the engine as i thought)."moondust"is pictured in there as well which Mick later owned and also Norm Wilding And "Pieces of Eight" and also John Russels MK4 as mentioned/pictured earlier.

This is the fold-out mag with Paul's Cortina in it.

It's European Rod & Custom issue 1 and was published in '77.

Click on the pic and it'll take you to webshots where the rest of the pages are, if you open them full size you can read the mag.
The centre page spread wasn't photogenic but I may try again later.

Heres more from the cruise. this is the 10th of august 1986, the minor was just plain rad & posed well for the camera, almost looks like a toy in the pic!, then theres the escort estate again with no flag on & an a60 in front of that, then we have a red 59 caddy , and stuart eckersleys amc again, this was quite a regular car & i had a few rides in it as he was a mate of a mates, loved that car, rip the amc!!, enjoy........
