i can't do photoshop so...... what i do is print pics of the (usually) cars i want to visualise, cut them up and tape them back together in the desired way. today i copied a side on pic of a 58 rambler and set to blue peter style, lol. here's 3 pics, stock, then slammed with the rear wheel centralised in the arch and then all that with a roof chop too.
what do you think?
i'm liking no.2 myself
neil.
ps excuse the picture quality, my camera flash would make the pics all white so i held a bright led light over them so the flash wouldn't work![]()

Gotta have fun in my old ageeven if I am a grumpy very Ol git.
picked up the type 9 5 speed box yesterday while we were away, i'll unload it in the morning now we're home. oh, and i bought a tyre changer just before we left last week. i've got to 'pop' to cornwall to collect it now, lol.
neil.
Ouch at £1.80 odd a litre!!

i know, but at £450 it's like new condition and with the motorcycle tyre fitting attachment too it was very cheap. cheap enough to still be a bargain after fuel costs. i looked on the website where it came from (same place as my 2 post lift) and it'd be about £1000 now. my car does about 55mpg on a run so about £85 round trip. not so bad.

Sounds too good to miss mate.

i thought so tim.
today in unrelated 'stuff' i've added a pop up side shalf to my home made computer desk for the mouse and mat. this is because when we were on holiday there was a garage sale up the road for a local animal charity. i had a quick look and bought a 32" blaupunkt flat screen telly to replace the 24" i had for my computer. the only drawback was i'm now too close to the big screen so the mouse needed to be further from it. a simple shelf on pop up brackets and it's now much better, the big 32" screen is cushty!

soooo..... due to fitment issues of both width and pcd i've bought another set of 18" wheels for the nash. and although modern in style they are somewhat traditional being wolfrace, lol. the tyres are cracked so only good for mockup but i'm hoping to be able to reuse the tyres from the mustang wheels if possible, fingers crossed. they are ford 4 stud so will bolt onto the cortina hubs and being modern have a fair bit of back spacing so should be ok. at £39.95 for the 4 i can always sell them on for a profit if they won't work, lol.
i'll put pics on once i collect them next weekend.
oh, the tyre changer works as good as it looks. i got some new short valves and a fitting tool along with tyre paste/lube and some stick on balance weights too. i also got a new manual 'bubble' wheel balancer that's old school but won't take up any room as it fits on the shelf when not in use.

so today i was bored, sat waiting for the batteries to charge on my van as it has mot tomorrow. i tidies the garage a bit, then sat down deleting old numbers from my phone. i came to american glass, i had their number as i'd made enquiries about a new screen for the valiant. but i digress..... i gave them a call and after giving them the car details i received a call back saying their supplier had top tint screens in stock for the rambler
delivered to my door for what i think is a very reasonable £475 plus vat. it should be here in 2-3 weeks which is just fine. i was all set to remake the whole surround to use 2 pieces of flat lam' making it a spilt screen car but this is one of those times where my time can be spent better elsewhere and just buy the part.
as i'd previously mentioned i'd had no luck finding one but i'd completely forgotten about these guys. here's a link to their website if anyone needs an odd bit of glass, and they don't come much more odd than a 58 rambler that's for sure. https://www.americanglass.co.uk/

here's the 18" wolfrace wheels i bought for £39.95 off of ebay. not sure what to do finish wise yet, they either need just a repaint or strip them, polish the rims and paint the centres. i've not decided yet but they're fine as is for mockup. i can also then decide how much bigger i can go tyre wise, but again for mockup they're just fine. also this anglia came back again, this time for final assembly. he's sat his new 146hp crossflow in place and mocked up the new milton and gaz gold suspension, so there's only everything else to fit lol.
This may be too little, too late, not having visited the forum for some months. A British built Nash Bathtub used two classic mini screens cut and butted up to create a new replacement for the unobtanium screen, At least that was the info in Custom Car, the Nash was a Cadbury blueish colour, I'
ve no idea who owned or built the car, but someone here may be able to assist.
Yep, too late. That car was the bigger Nash anyway so.......
i ordered the front and rear screen rubbers yesterday while they were on offer. still not cheap but they're correct so.... these guys only do nash/rambler rubber parts https://www.nashramblerrubber.com/home
i spoke to the windscreen supplier who has a second screen on it's way and due some time this month. the first one arrived from the states cracked, doh!
neil.
So it's going back in the workshop then, or will a new Pop be on the cards...
