Thumbs up Day trip to Billing

Today I mainly had a day trip to Swilling Aquamoan and I took 4 photograph's in all, one even had my own car on it purely by accident of coarse' lol.
Was going to take lot's of picture's but y'know how it is when you get chopsin' to people.
Nice to meet some of you guy's off here Tootall, Chris, John, and anyone else iv'e forgotten to mention got to check out Rottenpop 2 as well wich was NICE !

I think Billing will have filled the show field with static caravans by this time next year.

Iv'e just deleted an enormous moan about Billing had second thought's and thought I would wait untill it's over and see what other's thought about it first
Otherwise had a grand day out grommit

Well Chris rather muddy.........err......yes........I would say it was more like a sch!tt hole than a park, I s'pose that's why it's called an AQUADROME' eh.
As we are all hotrodder's as apposed to boat builder's (except in your case of coarse lol) I would sooner see the run somewhere a little less prone to flooding personally but I think it's the fact that it's been held there for so many year's now that nobody want's to move.
Went to get a pic of rottenpop2 just as I was leaving but Russ was there without the car, I thought some shady character had stolen it ! I'm sure someone will post some cool pic's of it for us?
I must say it did look and sound well ARD' when I saw Russ driving it about, I had a sit in it and it's bitchin' dude ! Made me feel my car was pretty GAY to be honest.
As I said I only took 4 picture's and one of those had a nice view of the back of Langy's ead ! lol.
Here's the Belgian guy's car with the striping pretty nice I thought ?

Wink Not missin' ya ! sorry.

Washed and polished my pop yesterday and then covered it up with a dust sheet because I won't be using it over the next two week's as i'll be off to Lord and Lady Purple of Binfeild's estate with my good lady wife where we will depart for Heathrowe airport of the morrow.
We will be heading out to the HOD ROD REUNION, BEACH BEND KENTUCKY it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it !!!!
You might feel sorry for me putting up with all that noise and nitro I know but don't worry I think i'll cope OK, just the 90 degree heat to contend with so see y'all soon.
Won't be missin' ya though LOL !

Mine is running again. Finished assembling the engine yesterday and must have knocked the ignition on by mistake. Leaned on the starter by mistake and it cranked probably quarter of a turn and fired up and sat there idling to my utter disbelief! Pinched myself a few times to make sure then shut her off. Sounds great with the light flywheel. Just got a few bugs to clear and I'll get it MOT'd later in the week or early next week

The new clutch is damn heavy so I don't think I'll have any problems with it slipping! Managed to hole the rad when I put it in so I plugged that last night. Hopefully have it on the road again fairly soon...

Got to sort the alternator, indicators and brake lights. Alternator and indicators I'm suspecting cheap Chinese parts being the mode of failure.

First of all, good evening. I apologise in advance for any rubbish I may be speaking because I've been out for a curry and copious amounts of beer

So this evening was time to get the alternator and the hoses back on so I could get it fired up and check the rad. The alternator had been giving me some grief so I decided to swap to the new Lucas one I got on eBay for £1. I had a pair of chopped up sockets I used to fit the pulley nut due to it being a tight squeeze and I couldn't find them anywhere. Damnit I spent hours cleaning up the garage last night and they ended up being in a 'safe place' were I wouldn't lose them :

Anywhoos here's some gaskets I've got for the SU's:

They are really nice and filthy and will fit straight in. Don't want any of this shiny new looking stuff, I'd have to like clean it then. Ugh.

Back onto the subject in hand. I swapped the pulley from the one on the left to the one on the right.

You'll notice the casing is a mirror image of the one I had originally. I was hoping it would be a simple matter of take the bolts out and spin the front cover round two spaces. I have no idea how alternators work so it's fingers crossed on this one...

    Plastic cover off:

Bolts out and give it a twist, bit tight but it moved:

And there it is with the heater and hoses assembled:

Note the fan is blurred and the engine is running. Celebrated by illegally taking it out for a non MOT'd, no brake lights, no tax test drive. It works! Brake lights I'll sort tomorrow with a bit of luck and I'll get it MOT'd in the week but it's essentially back and once it's run in I swear I'll get the rest of the go faster goodies on :P

It's the pulley off the 6V dynamo that was on the original car. I modified it to fit the alternator and the fan is cast in on the back. The radiator fan bolts on the front on those two bolts.

    Looking ace Mark!

Mine is now officially of an MOT'able standard and everything works as it should. Found out what was up with the brake lights - the wire was pinched through on top of the tank and wash shorting out! Might have to take it to work on a test drive tomorrow to check all is ok
